First Happy Meal!

Glenn had his first Happy Meal this Labor Day Weekend. When we walked to the restaurant he said 'why'; he knew fries came from here. We chose the apple juice and of course, he loved it. He ate some whys and avoided the chicken nuggets and said 'noooo'. He got a little Star Wars toy too.

Happy with his happy meal.

Since he's avoiding meat regularly now, as many toddlers do, we've been trying to give him a multi-vitamin to up his iron, etc. He used to eat hot dogs, but now the only meat he will eat is a hidden piece of beef (in a shell), or fatty chicken from chicken noodle soup. Nothing else, and even that's a feat. Personally I think he'll survive and this is a stage they all go through.

We tried generic, Flinstones, and a liquid vitamin and he hates them all. I tried the Flintstones and it had a so-so aftertaste. I even tried to give him the gummi vitamin and he wouldn't even chew it; but alas it had NO iron in it. He ate the first Flintstones, and we had our hopes up, but every one thereafter has been regurgitated. The liquid vitamin with iron (Poly-Vi-Sol) is undescribable, I just can't describe it, it's that nasty. It is gagerific. I got some on my hands and after 3 washes, the odor wouldn't come off. I had to use aftershave to get it off. Yuck! Straight, this liquid is unedible, next I'll try to add it to his milk/juice but I know his response already. The pediatrician says you can crush the Flinstones in his food, but our little smellhound will most likely notice. Toddlers are stubborn! :-)

Update: He really noticed the Poly-Vi-Sol I added to his juice. This product is not acceptable to me and they actually say it's fruit-flavored on the box. Good one.

Note: He's wearing his 'Caution I wreck things' shirt, after the previous day's incident. He broke his adorable froggy humidifier, sent it flying over a gate and there it laid in pieces. :/

Making funny faces, as he knows I'm taking a picture!

Mmmm. Nuggets and french fries. Glenn, how can you go wrong? Maybe he needs some BBQ sauce.

It's interesting that some kids shun meat. FOOLISH BOY! :-) Meat's the only thing keeping me alive these days. That, and beer, of course.

Don't worry we took care of his chicken nuggets for him. :)

Well I showed him ketchup and how he could dunk it and he said noooo. Forgot to try BBQ...didn't even see it! We were holding about 30 lbs. of food and drink & packaging (whole 'nother story). :)

Some day I think it'll 'click' and all he'll eat will be nuggets and fries, at home, or away, mac/cheese, and the classic kid food. I'd be happy if he gave me an excuse to eat chicken nuggets 24/7. hehe

p.s. target brand chicken nuggets are real good. I am pretty sure Dave could eat them too.
